Good morning, it's Tuesday, November 3, and this is The Daily Punchlist. Coffee's hot, the porta-john is cold, and somebody already asked if the pour is still on.
Today's theme is the back office. AI is moving into the ERP, the staffing board and the inspection queue, while robots are still mostly stuck in research mode.
In today's issue
- CMiC adds an AI launchpad to its construction ERP
- Swinerton picks Bridgit to plan its people across regions
- ITpipes puts AI on sewer video coding
- 95% research robots, 16% use them regularly
1. CMiC adds an AI launchpad to its construction ERP
CMiC introduced NexusAI at its CONNECT 2026 conference in Orlando this week. Users ask in plain language to launch AI agents and pull up ERP content, and can create jobs, budgets and invoices through a request, review and confirm step. It runs on CMiC's MCP server and stays inside each user's existing permissions.
Why it matters: Plenty of PMs have never found the right screen in their ERP. If they can just ask for job cost, the accounting team gets fewer "can you pull this for me" emails. Keep the confirm button.

2. Swinerton picks Bridgit to plan its people across regions
Swinerton, the employee-owned builder with 24 offices, selected Bridgit's AI workforce planning platform. It puts pipeline, projects, skills and certifications in one place, and Bridgit's AI features and agents help match people to jobs across offices and regions.
The fine print: Bridgit says it's trusted by 40% of top contractors. That's the company's own claim.
Why it matters: Staffing a job is still a whiteboard and a phone call in a lot of offices. When your best super is booked two regions over, you want to know before the bid goes in, not after. Spreadsheets don't call you back.

3. ITpipes puts AI on sewer video coding
ITpipes launched AiDetect, which codes defects in sewer CCTV inspection video, even for agencies and contractors that don't use ITpipes software. You upload a NASSCO exchange database with video, the AI applies a PACP code, distance and severity to each defect, and NASSCO-certified reviewers check low-confidence calls before results go back.
Why it matters: Watching pipe video frame by frame is the job nobody fights over. If the AI does the first pass, the camera operator stays in the truck collecting footage. Humans still sign off.

4. 95% research robots, 16% use them regularly
BuiltWorlds wrapped its Tokyo summit with a blunt takeaway: the bottleneck has moved from the technology to the operating model. Its 2026 benchmarking found 95% of AEC organizations are at least researching jobsite robotics, but only 16% deploy robots regularly across multiple projects. Hitachi Construction Machinery's Stephen Daff put it this way: "A technically capable robot can be operationally unusable."
Why it matters: A robot that works in the demo still has to fit your crew, your schedule and your safety plan. That's where most of them stall. The hard part is Monday morning.

The Daily Old Joke
I'm working on a joke about road construction. Give me a few months to lay it all out.
Tool of the day: GPStimate
GPStimate is AI-assisted estimating built for commercial roofing contractors. It measures roof areas from satellite and aerial imagery and pulls product and safety data sheets into the estimate. Before the AI calculates anything, the estimator confirms scale against one known measurement, then approves every number. https://dailypunchlist.com/tools/estimating/gpstimate/ · https://gpstimate.com
